Macio Selected as a 2025 MIIT Typical Case for Digital Transformation

Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) officially announced the list of “2025 Typical Cases of Digital Transformation.” Macio Casa Furnishing CO., LTD. was successfully selected for its case “MACIO CASA Personalized R&D and Design” (in the direction of increasing product variety).

This selection focused on the consumer goods industry’s efforts to “increase variety, improve quality, and create brands,” aiming to identify typical industry cases with strong technological support, outstanding demonstration effects, and promotional value. With more than two decades of digital expertise in the industry, Macio has not only unlocked ideal living solutions tailored to individual consumers, but also provided a highly valuable practical example for the development of the “Digital Three Products” initiative in China’s consumer goods industry.

Demand-Pulled Design; Turning Personalization into a Standardized Capability

In the customized home furnishing industry, traditional models often rely on distributor experience or one-way output from designer, making it difficult to accurately capture the true preferences of a massive user base. The core breakthrough of Macio’s selected case lies in establishing a new paradigm of personalized product R&D and design driven by “demand sensing.”

The value of demand sensing must ultimately be reflected in the rapid response and precise implementation of R&D and design. Leveraging its digital design platform and intelligent manufacturing system accumulated over many years, Macio has built a complete closed loop from demand insight to product delivery:

Front-end perception layer: continuously collects user needs through store design software, user interaction touchpoints, and after-sales service systems;

Middle-platform R&D layer: based on demand analysis results, the R&D team quickly carries out design, material selection, and process verification to form personalized designs;

Back-end delivery layer: solution data is directly connected to German-style Industry 4.0 flexible production lines, enabling large-scale and efficient production with personalized solutions for thousands of households.

Behind this capability is Macio’s years of accumulated strength in digital infrastructure. Since 2006, Macio has continuously invested in digitalization and has now built a nationwide integrated management system covering marketing, design, production, quality control, logistics, and installation services. At its intelligent manufacturing bases in Banan, Chongqing, and Foshan, Guangdong, German-style Industry 4.0 flexible production lines are operating efficiently. The unique QR code on each panel serves as its “ID card.” Robotic arms perform precise cutting, edge banding, and sorting according to cloud instructions, truly realizing “large-scale flexible non-standard C2B2F customization.”

 R&D Continuously Upgrades; Dual-Driven by High-End Customization and Intelligent Aesthetics

As its demand sensing capabilities continue to evolve, Macio is also achieving continuous breakthroughs in its R&D strength. At present, Macio owns more than 500 national patents, with 91 newly added in 2025, including 5 invention patents. As one of the enterprises with the deepest accumulation in the solid wood customization field in the industry, Macio has engaged in in-depth cooperation with Nanjing Forestry University and other universities, participated in the National Key R&D Program of the 14th Five-Year Plan, and overcome technical bottlenecks such as the deformation-prone nature of solid wood furniture. It has jointly established the “Home Furnishing Coating and Color Laboratory” with Zhanchen and Central South University of Forestry and Technology to overcome technical bottlenecks in coating processes and other areas, and has also jointly studied and developed home furnishing color trends and fashion colors with the Sekong Life Color Research Institute. The Italian Cefla intelligent spraying system introduced in 2025 has further improved the coating precision and delivery efficiency of solid wood products.

In addition, Macio actively embraces the wave of intelligence and cooperates deeply with Huawei HarmonyOS Smart Home to seamlessly integrate modular cabinets with intelligent central control systems. In this process, Macio did not simply pile up smart functions; instead, based on users’ dual needs for “smart living” and “spatial aesthetics,” it developed designs and spaces that are both practical and aesthetically pleasing. Its current intelligent implementation projects include Ark One, China’s first ultra-large open laboratory for spatial intelligence; Huawei HarmonyOS Smart Home’s largest store in the Greater Bay Area; and the MAG-G Full Case Design Center.

Being selected as a national-level typical case reflects the high recognition by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the industry of Macio digital capabilities and R&D level. In the future, Macio will take users needs as its starting point and digital technology as its engine, optimize its product innovation and R&D capabilities, and promote the high-quality development of the home furnishing industry.
